Callywith looks forward to first Open Day since opening

On 25th November, from 10am-3pm, Callywith College is opening its doors for its first Open Day since opening to its first students in Bodmin in September.

Prospective students, their families and the local community are being invited to look around the brand new College and tour the campus to experience first-hand its state-of-the-art facilities including 75” touch screens in every teaching room and four bespoke, industry standard science laboratories for the first time since opening in September 2017.


Teaching staff from a variety of subject areas will be on hand to talk about the 28 A Levels on offer including Psychology and Environmental Science and the 17 Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas including Games, Animation & VFX Skills and new course added to the 2018 offering; Travel and Tourism, to help prospective students find the perfect course(s).


A delighted Callywith Principal Mark Wardle said: “We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our Open Day on 25th November which will be the first opportunity for our prospective students for 2018 to come and look around, meet the students and experience for themselves what Callywith College has to offer.”


Visitors will also be given the opportunity to talk to the College’s very first Student Ambassadors about what college life is like, to find out more about what to expect as a student from the Principal in the College’s brand new Lecture Theatre at 11am and 1pm, as well as getting a first look inside the brand new recently completed Garrow sports building containing a fantastic sports hall, gym, refectory, classrooms, learning centre and I.T suites.


The College’s Refectory will also be open throughout the day to showcase all of the fantastic food on offer for students and their will be a variety of demonstrations and activities including virtual reality in the games & computing department and watt bike, netball & other sporting challenges in the brand new sports hall.

Applications are now open for students looking to join Callywith College in September 2018 with over 200 applications already received from students in St Austell, Liskeard, Bodmin, Bude, Callington, Fowey and Launceston all eager to secure one of the 660 places available.
