Callywith achieve Investors in Diversity for Schools Award
Callywith staff and students are celebrating their achievement of the Investors in Diversity for Schools Award.
The Investors in Diversity Award is a nationally recognised quality mark which provides an all-encompassing methodology for improving Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) practices in the workplace.
In a letter to the College, the National Centre for Diversity (NCD) said: “On behalf of the National Centre for Diversity, I would like to congratulate Callywith College, their staff, and stakeholders on the successful achievement of the Investors in Diversity award following the assessment process.
“The Investors in Diversity journey and achievement of the standard gives a positive message to all the stakeholders, internal and external, and each person should be congratulated for their input and success of the organisation.”
This achievement follows a thorough assessment process where external stakeholders, staff and students completed a detailed survey regarding their experience and interpretation of the way in which diversity is recognised and promoted at Callywith College.
Many of our wonderful staff and students have contributed to our investment in diversity including our Senior Management, Pastoral Lead, Personal Support Advisors, SENDCo, Student Council EDI Representative and our Learning Support Assistants.
Callywith Assistant Principal for Student Experience Jen Temple said: "We are extremely pleased that both our culture of inclusion and positive promotion of diversity have been recognised in this way. Staff and students at Callywith contribute significantly to this on a day-to-day basis, demonstrating respect for NCD's FREDIE values of fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement.
“Staff at the National Centre for Diversity have been incredibly supportive throughout the process, and we would like to thank them for this."
