Cornish Netball Champions on their way to National Cup
Callywith College 1st netball team are the only Cornish competitors who have made it through to round four of the AoC National Cup.
Principal Mark Wardle is pleased with the team’s success, saying:
“They have proven that the quality of netball provision at Callywith is outstanding. They fought extremely hard and showed the character and ability under pressure needed for success at this level.”
The team continued their winning streak in a home match against Penwith College, taking them to the next level in the national competition.
Netball Coach Jess Colwill is proud of the team, saying:
“I am so proud of all the girls, they have all been training so hard and thoroughly deserve going into the next round. Our determination and fight to win on court really showed in yesterday's game. Bring on round 4!”
The Callywith team won the home game with a final score of 56-46.
Captain of the Netball team, Rebecca Couchman, is ecstatic with the results from the match, saying:
“I couldn't have asked of anything more than anyone on court today. Everyone kept their composure and intensity right through to the end which reflected on the score.”
