Callywith’s First Library Festival - A Celebration of Books & Creativity

Our first-ever Callywith Library Festival, held in celebration of World Book Day, was a brilliant success.

Students and staff celebrated all things literary and explored the exciting opportunities within the creative sector.

The day included a fantastic series of inspiring book readings and workshops led by blog writers and local authors Roland Monger, Ellen Hawley and Sam Horton, Illustrator & Artist Amanda Young, Callywith English Lecturer Natalie, Shrew Books, Miracle Theatre, Archer’s Comics and Cornwall Libraries. Each session was packed with valuable insights and creativity.

An informal networking lunch in the library provided a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with industry professionals. It was great to see so many engaging conversations and new connections being made!

Congratulations to the student and staff winners of the Callywith Creative Competition. From captivating poems and compelling stories to an outstanding short film. The announcement and prize-giving added an extra spark of excitement to the day. A huge well done to all who entered - your creativity and talent were truly inspiring!
