Over 40 of our Level 3 Health & Social Care Diploma students travelled to the University of South Wales to experience their state-of-the-art simulation facilities for nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals last week.
As part of the day, students got to view all the simulation rooms including neonatal unit, emergency department, ICU unit and delivery suite. Students also attended talks on a variety of areas including forensic science, occupational therapy, nursing and midwifery, operating department practice and physiotherapy.
In the afternoon, students were challenged to undertake a decision making activity in small groups in Hydra Minerva suites focusing on safeguarding and professional standards.
Students also received advice on how to prepare for their university applications such as what to include in their personal statements tailored to their career aspirations.
Students had a brilliant time and left feeling inspired about their future careers.
