Students and staff wear yellow for World Mental Health Day
Students and staff raised awareness for World Mental Health Day on 10th October by wearing yellow for Young Minds charity’s #HelloYellow campaign to show young people that they are not alone when struggling with their mental health.
Students took part in lots of fun activities run by our Student Services team and student ambassadors, including spinning our Wellbeing Wheel and having a go at the wellbeing activity they land on - from being physically active on our watt-bike, paying attention to the present moment on our mindfulness trail, giving to others, and learning a new skill (bottle-flipping!)
Students also left their messages of support and encouragement on our Positivi-Tree, took self-care tips from our Shake It and Take It Jar, had their faces painted and got glitter tattoos!
We are here not only to get students through their qualifications, but to help them overcome any personal issues they may be experiencing as a young person. Students can talk to anyone at Callywith about their mental health, at any time including their lecturers and Personal Development Tutors (PDTs).
Student Services are also available to talk to about any issues students are experiencing by emailing studentservices@callywith.ac.uk, calling 01208 224460 or popping in to see the team in T010 in Temple building.
