Our experienced teachers will guide you through rigorous training, helping you refine your vocal, physical, and emotional expressiveness to create compelling and authentic performances. In addition to stage acting, you will gain invaluable insights into the unique demands of acting for the screen. Learner progression is at the heart of the course where you will learn about the Performing Arts Business, how to make a professional CV, receive audition tips and techniques and meet professional performers, directors and technicians.
Assessment Arrangements
Assignments will provide the learning necessary to enable the student to achieve the assessment criteria.
This course will be delivered via twelve units over a two-year period. These units will be assessed through a combination of portfolios of evidence, assignments, and a final project.
Where will it take me?
An Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts can equip you for progression onto a university or drama/stage school degree or diploma course in subjects such as Drama, Acting, Musical Theatre, Dance, or Performing Arts. Other areas at university might be Media, Journalism, Events Management, Technical Theatre or Education (Teaching). If you do not wish to go into Higher Education you may find yourself able to go into employment an area of the performing arts, whether it be as a trainee or apprenticeship in backstage operations with a theatre company, front of house or teaching assistant.
What will I need?
You will need four GCSEs at grade 4 including a 4 in English (Lang or Lit.) and / or Maths.
Whilst it is possible to re-take GCSE English and Maths at Callywith College, students can only study one of these subjects alongside our Level 3 courses and therefore all students must have at least one grade 4 in English or Maths at the point of enrolment (other course specific entry requirements apply).
